Come and gone like a northern summer
Come and gone like the leaves in the breeze
In my mind I will find some other
I hope that wishing well will buy me peace

I wish I could build a time machine
Or find a way to make that moment freeze
Passes by like a big bird in the sky
It's just too far for me to see

Like a wildfire it'll burn away
When the smoke is gone and moved on
With clear eyes we may find that place
